History

Capper's Creation

I created Capper as a challenge to myself to try and create a game in a single month from start to finish. I managed to accomplish this, however, I have gone on to put in some additional work to really help improve the game overall. Capper was inspired by the game "Unfair Flips" by Heather Flowers. I enjoyed the simplicity of that game and the desire to want to land more heads in a row. I wanted to expand on that concept in my own way, and add more options for the player to upgrade and make bigger and better progress.

From there, the Normal mode for Capper was developed. During development, I realized just how fun the game could be if you were put into a situation where your progress bar actually depleted more and more over time. This spawned the creation of the Endless mode. In this mode, you have a limited amount of health which gets knocked down over time. You need to upgrade your face up chance, cap flip speed, shiny cap chance, and also upgrade the caps themselves in order to push further. Endless mode also introduces Trinkets. You earn these from banking Face Up cap flips.

Trinkets give the player the ability to really change up the game in new and interesting ways. There's also a lot of synergy between the trinkets, letting the player mix and match them to unlock their full potential.
